Fenestration Canada’s Comments on Proposed Changes to the National Building Code
On January 15, 2020 Ontario Code News announced the Winter 2020 Public Review of changes to the National Building Code (NBC) and the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB). The public review was to take place from January 13, 2020 through March 13, 2020.
On January 30, the Fenestration Canada Manufacturers’ Council held an initial meeting informing interested members about the public review. At that meeting, a task group (Chaired by Dave Goldsmith and Al Jaugelis) was formed to review the proposed changes and to respond to changes that concerned Fenestration Canada members. The task group met on February 24 to review and discuss the proposed changes in detail. It was decided to reply to four of the changes. On March 12-13, Al Jaugelis submitted the task group’s position on behalf of the association.
