Response to Phase 2 of Canadian Counter Tariffs

Hello Fenestration Canada members,

In response to the tariffs put into place this week by the US (and paused again for another 30 days on March 6th), the Canadian government released Phase 2 of the counter-tariffs for public comment. On this list, for those buying the components needed for their windows and doors from the US, I cannot find any portion of our supply chain not affected — the most concerning of these being glass in sheets(annealed, tempered, and laminated) and as IGUs.

We will be making a concerted effort to both act as a clear voice for our association and work with others to amplify this voice as clearly as we can. See attached for the language we'll be using to directly interact with our contacts in government at the various provincial and federal levels. We encourage our members to share this where they feel is applicable.

We have until March 25th to make that message abundantly clear. For anyone that believes they are connected to those that can help broadcast this message, please send their contacts to Adrian Edge at adrian@fenestrationcanada.ca.
