Dear Fenestration Canada Members,
Over the last week, there has been incredible participation by members in getting the message out to the Canadian government on the industry's opposition to the counter-tariffs and, specifically, the glass HS codes. To ensure we give the best effort forward before the HS codes go into effect on April 2nd, Fenestration Canada's board approved emergency budget funds to work with a third-party lobbyist group to get our message into the hands of those in the government closely working on this issue.
Over the next few weeks, we will be working with Maple Leaf Strategies to gather the information needed for myself and our Executive director, Stéphane Labelle to take our case directly to Ottawa and showcase the potential damage to our industry if these HS codes persist. This will require the help of our manufacturers in sculpting clear narratives that explain the potential damage this could inflict on our industry. I'll be reaching out to a handful of you in the coming days to request support for various messaging and to potentially support meetings with your provincial leaders as needed. Anyone interested in supporting this effort, whether it be financially or being a direct contact for information, please send me an email to let me know. I'll make sure you're included in the discussion as this progresses.
As your industry association, we are honoured to be able to serve you all in this way and feel we must see this particular item through to its conclusion.
Thank you for your trust and support.

Director - Codes and Regulatory Affairs
