The work on the 2025 energy code was winding down in the last few months of 2024. The
Standing Committee on Energy Efficiency (SC-EE) has completed its work as of the end of 2024.
Beginning January 1, 2025 there will be a completely new code development structure. The
organization of the code development will be completely new with new committees and task
groups.
At the end of 2024 there was one outstanding proposed code change out for public comment.
This was PCF 1823 which includes the upper limits on SHGC for the prescriptive code
compliance path. The public comments will not be reviewed by SC-EE as it will no longer be a
committee. This new committee that will address PCF 1823 is going to be chaired by Andrew
Pride the former chair of SC-EE. This committee has formed a working group to review the
remaining PCFs for the 2025 energy code. So this report will focus on PCF 1823 and my
predicted outcome for this PCF.
