Windows in Walls with Exterior Insulation

In this session we will review when it’s good practice to push the window out of the building structure and options to support and anchor it when using exterior insulation.  Discussions will include strategies to control water with flashings and detailed membranes, continuous insulation with minimal thermal bridging to improve condensation resistance and energy efficiency, and simplified construction and deconstruction methods – for future window replacement.
