How Fenestration Canada adapted in 2020 despite COVID impacts
Toronto, ON: Fenestration Canada announced the accomplishments and success of 2020 with the impact of COVID-19 on the association.
“2020 brought many challenges for our industry but we quickly adapted and pivoted to help our membership and our association” says Stéphane Labelle, Executive Director.
This news comes in the wake of many recent initiatives and accomplishments of the company, including:
- Successfully creating Marketplace by WinDoor, an online platform which fully replaced our in person WinDoor show in 2020. The Marketplace launched in November 2020 and will continue to stay open until November 2021 and onward. The Marketplace will be the main educational platform for 2021 including exhibitor booths which can be viewed at the attendee’s convenience.
- The creation of the HUB on our website continues to provide relevant COVID-19 news to our industry.
- We are excited to announce the maternity leave of Lindsay McGhie of Centennial Windows, our 2020 WinDoor Chair. We wish her and her family the best. She has done an outstanding job as our 2020 WinDoor Chair.
- As Lindsay steps down as WinDoor Chair, Dan Darcy of Darcy Associates will take over the role and we are excited for his involvement as he is a long time member of our Event Committee.
“WinDoor 2020 adapted into something none of us would have expected at the beginning of the year – Marketplace by WinDoor. I’m proud to have been a part of the team that stood up to the challenge of a virtual event and saw the week become a great success – and it’s not over yet. We have more educational and supplier content coming throughout 2021” says Lindsay McGhie, 2020 WinDoor Chair. “I’m leaving the committee in the exceptionally qualified hands of Dan Darcy and I know he will be ready for any challenge 2021 brings.”
I am pleased to step in as chairperson of the Windoor/Marketplace says Dan Darcy, 2021 WinDoor Chair. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lindsay McGhie who has done a “Bang Up Job” for the past year and wish her all the best in her new chapter of motherhood.
